Seneca has been an accreditied Kansas Main Street community and Main Street America program since 2007.
As a Main Street America™ Accredited program, the Seneca Downtown Impact is a recognized leading program among the national network of more than 1,200 neighborhoods and communities who share both a commitment to creating high-quality places and to building stronger communities through preservation-based economic development. All Main Street America™ Accredited programs meet a set of National Accreditation Standards of Performance as outlined by the National Main Street Center.
In 2026, Seneca became an Empower Kansas community, joining a statewide network of local organizations and volunteers working to make Kansas communities stronger. Through Seneca Area Chamber & Downtown Impact, residents and partners are growing the HYPE Team, expanding family activities at Oktoberfest, supporting downtown businesses, developing a Seneca magazine and visitor guide, and planning a mural that celebrates our community’s history.
