Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact announces Chamber Blue Insurance Plan

The Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact is pleased to announce a new partnership with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Kansas (BCBSKS) and Chamber of Commerce Executives of Kansas (CCEKS). This partnership brings together over 59 local Chambers of Commerce across Kansas to offer an Association Health Plan entitled Chamber Blue of Kansas.

Chamber Blue of Kansas is an association health plan (AHP) that allows for employers to join together to purchase insurance. The larger pool of people enrolled in the plan allows the possibility for more plan options, and potentially, lower cost.

The rates will be based upon employers who complete an interest survey; completing the survey is required in order to enroll in the program, but does not obligate your organization to enroll. Please fill out the survey here. The survey should be filled out by the business owner and/or person who will handle insurance for the business, one survey per business. All surveys must be completed by August 18, 2023, for all interested parties to submit.

In order to be eligible for the plan, employers must employ two W-2 employees, unless your business is filing taxes as an S-Corp or a C-Corp. Additionally, businesses larger than 50 employees are not eligible. Businesses must be members of the Seneca Area Chamber and Downtown Impact by enrollment time (November 2023).

The initial rates will be determined in September 2023 based on groups/businesses that have completed the survey and plans will become effective January 1, 2024.

If you have questions, please watch this webinar provided by Blue Cross Blue Shield.
