The Nemaha County Historical Society is at home in what was the Nemaha County Jail and Sheriff’s residence. This building served as the Nemaha County Jail since it was constructed in 1879. It was the longest in use county jail in Kansas.

Our sites are open on TUESDAYS from 10 am to 4 pm. Please enter thru the red brick Harry C. M. Burger near our horse, ‘Diamond’.
Please email or leave a phone message at least 2 weeks in advance to schedule a visit on another day. Buildings are closed during inclement weather.
