Maintenance Employee

The City of Seneca has an opening in its Public Works Department for a Maintenance Employee I. 
The Public Works Department is responsible for the water and wastewater utility systems, streets and alleys, city buildings and facilities, city parks, aquatic center, airport, and city cemetery. Supervised by the City Superintendent, a City Maintenance Employee performs manual and skilled labor to repair and maintain the systems and facilities of the Public Works Department.

 Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Strong mechanical aptitude Experience operating heavy equipment is beneficial
  • Good communication and public relations skills
  • Class II Water Operator Certification or Class I Wastewater Operator Certification (preferred, but not required)
  • Valid Kansas Driver's license; employee will be required to obtain a Kansas Commercial Driver's License (CDL Class B) within one year of employment
