Last Updated 5/18/2026

Looking for something fun, educational, and perfect for all ages? Mark your calendar for Seneca’s Museum Fest on Saturday, June 13 from 11 AM to 3 PM.

For one day only, all five of Seneca’s museums will be open and free to visit, giving you a unique opportunity to explore the stories, people, and places that shaped our community.

🗺️ Explore All Five Museums

During Museum Fest, you can visit:

  • Pony Express Museum
  • Fire Department Museum
  • Military Museum (Temple of Honor)
  • Historic Jail & Residence
  • Hand Dug Well

Each location offers a different glimpse into Seneca’s rich history, making this a perfect day to explore downtown and beyond.

🎉 New This Year: Hands-On Fun for Kids

Head over to Castle Hall (601 Castle Street) for a special feature new to Museum Fest this year. The Children’s Discovery Center Mobile Exhibit will be set up with hands-on activities designed especially for kids ages 1–10.

With interactive exhibits focused on science, technology, engineering, art, and math, it’s a great way to keep younger visitors engaged while they learn and explore.

🎶 Food, Fun, and Live Entertainment

While you’re out exploring, stop by Castle Hall for lunch. The Nemaha Central Band will be serving up food, making it easy to spend the whole day enjoying everything Museum Fest has to offer.

While you're in town, take time to support Seneca’s local restaurants. Whether you're grabbing lunch, enjoying a sweet treat, or sitting down for dinner, it’s the perfect opportunity to experience the great food our community has to offer.

At 1 PM, don’t miss a special presentation by Cowboy Poet Ron Wilson at the Seneca Free Library, adding a unique cultural experience to the day’s lineup.

🎁 Win Prizes While You Explore

Want to make it even more fun? Visit at least half of the museum locations and you’ll be entered to win great local prizes.

It’s the perfect incentive to see more, learn more, and experience everything Seneca has to offer.

Museum Fest is designed for all ages, whether you’re a lifelong resident, a history buff, or just looking for a fun way to spend a summer Saturday. It’s a chance to slow down, explore, and connect with the stories that make Seneca special.
